News: Police searching for driver who fatally struck Santa Fe pedestrian

SANTA FE, NM - Police are searching for the driver who struck and killed a pedestrian in Santa Fe, KRQE reports.

58-year-old Bernadette Martinez was hit by a car while crossing St. Francis Drive near Cerrillos Road on Feb. 4 at about 8 p.m.  Martinez was not using a crosswalk at the time of the accident, investigators said.

The driver left the scene without stopping to help, and police have now issued a description of the vehicle they are searching for.  It was described as a maroon or red compact sedan with dark tint on its windows.  The driver was described as a woman 5 feet tall with long brown hair, a thin build, and light skin.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the driver or the vehicle was asked to contact Santa Fe police, our Albuquerque car accident attorney adds.
