News: Shiprock woman charged with manslaughter in fatal car crash

FARMINGTON, NM - New Mexico prosecutors announced charges stemming from a fatal car accident on Sept. 28, 2022, according to the Farmington Daily Times.

19-year-old Courtney Frank of Shiprock is charged with involuntary manslaughter and assault resulting in serious bodily injury.  The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of New Mexico said Frank was drunk behind the wheel when she collided head-on with another car.

The woman driving the other vehicle was killed and her son, a passenger, was injured.  Frank made an initial appearance in federal court this week and faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted of the charges.
