News: Train derailment on Highway 60 in Torrance County

WILLARD, NM - An investigation is underway into a train derailment that occurred Monday in Torrance County, reports KOAT.

The incident happened along U.S. Highway 60 near mile marker 231 in between Vaughn and Willard.  One car of a 26-car train was reported to have derailed.  No one was injured, our Albuquerque accident attorney adds, and officials said there were no concerns regarding hazardous materials.

New Mexico State Police responded to the crash scene. Investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board and BNSF Railway are looking into the cause of the accident.
