Pedestrian dies after being hit by vehicle near Jefferson Street

ALBUQUERQUE, NM - The Albuquerque Police Department began an investigation into a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred last week.

According to KRQE, the incident happened on Interstate 25 northbound near Jefferson Street on June 8.  The victim was struck on the roadway by a vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.  The person's identity was not released.

I-25 north was shut down for the crash investigation, and drivers were detoured at Montano Road/Montgomery Boulevard.
