Pedestrian struck by SUV on Interstate 40 in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Police said a man was struck by a vehicle while trying to run across Interstate 40 in Albuquerque last week.

According to KRQE, 18-year-old Dominic Valencia was wanted by authorities for two felony warrants.  On Tuesday afternoon, police said Valencia was trying to evade officers when he crossed the westbound lanes of I-40 near Eubank Boulevard.  As he tried to cross eastbound traffic, he was struck by an SUV.

Valencia was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.  Lanes were shut down on I-40 for several hours for the police investigation.  Albuquerque police are continuing to investigate the incident.  Should any additional information come to light, our Albuquerque car accident lawyer will update this news blog.
