ALBUQUERQUE, NM - A search is underway for the driver responsible for the death of a pedestrian in Albuquerque Sunday night.
A report by KRQE states that the accident occured at the intersection of Central Avenue and Utah Street. Witnesses reported seeing a car going westbound on Central Avenue when it struck a man near Utah Street. The victim, whose identity was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating the hit-and-run and trying to track down the driver involved. The westbound lanes of Central Avenue were shut down between Virginia Street and Utah Street as part of the police investigation.
