CARLSBAD, NM - At least one person was killed in a multi-vehicle accident south of Carlsbad last week.
The crash happened Nov. 29 in the vicinity of U.S. 285 and Thomason Road. The Eddy County Sheriff's Office said three motorcycles and a pickup truck were involved in a collision at that location at about 6:45 p.m. No information was immediately released on the identity of the victim. There was no word on whether anyone else was injured.
The sheriff's office is investigating the incident, which shut down U.S. 285 South at Thomason Road. Investigators do not believe that alcohol was a contributing factor.
