ALBUQUERQUE, NM - A collision shut down a portion of Interstate 40 near Carnuel on Wednesday morning, the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office said.
The incident involved a semi and a truck, the BCSO reported in a traffic alert issued at 11:44 a.m. Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene on I-40 eastbound just east of the 171 mile marker.
Details were limited and there was no immediate word regarding injuries. All three eastbound lanes of I-40 were shut down by the accident. Motorists were advised to reduce their speed and use caution when driving through the area.
