CLINES CORNERS, NM - The New Mexico State Police are investigating a deadly accident that occurred in Santa Fe County last week.
According to an NMSP news release, the crash involved three vehicles and occurred Aug. 20 on US 285 north of Clines Corners at about 2 p.m.
State Police determined that the driver of a 2015 Lexus was heading south on US 285 and tried to pass a vehicle in front of the car. While passing the vehicle, the Lexus struck a northbound 2020 Ford F150 pickup truck head-on. A 2021 Toyota going north was also involved in the collision.
A passenger in the Lexus, 66-year-old Leticia Lancaster-Valois of Oklahoma City, was pronounced dead at the scene. All other drivers and passengers involved in the crash were hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
