CARRIZOZO, NM - A man was killed and another person was seriously injured in a wrong-way crash near Carrizozo last Wednesday.
According to KRQE, The crash occurred when a 20201 Chysler van heading north on US-54 crossed into the oncoming lanes for unknown reasons. The van then slammed head-on into a 2023 Volvo CMV that was traveling south.
The driver of the Chrysler, 23-year-old Isaiah Carl, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. A passenger in his vehicle was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
No additional injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
