1 dead, 2 injured in crash involving semi in Kosciusko County

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, IN - An SUV and a semi-truck were involved in a deadly crash in Kosciusko County on Tuesday morning, WANE reported.

It happened at the intersection of U.S. 30 and County Road 900 East.  According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office, the driver of a 2020 Nissan Murano was headed south from CR-900E shortly before 10:48 a.m.  The driver crossed U.S. 30 and pulled into the path of a 2021 Freightliner semi that was pulling a trailer, resulting in a collision.

A passenger in the Nissan, 26-year-old Magdalynn M. Wood, died at the scene.  The driver, 21-year-old Aleigh Hill, and another passenger, 50-year-old Terry J. Wood, were transported to Lutheran Fort Wayne for treatment.  All occupants of the Nissan were from Larwill.  The semi driver, 57-year-old James Ivery of Chicago, was not injured.

The cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
