1 dead after pickup truck crashes into tree in Barry County

BALTIMORE TOWNSHIP, MI - Michigan State Police were on the scene of a deadly accident involving a pickup truck on Saturday morning.

According to a WWMT report, the incident happened in Baltimore Township in Barry County. MSP troopers arrived at the scene on East Ickes Road near Bird Road at about 11:30 a.m.

They found that a pickup truck had collided with a tree and was engulfed in flames. One person was found dead inside the truck. The victim's identity was not immediately disclosed.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
