2 hospitalized after car crashes, catches fire in Park Township

PARK TOWNSHIP, MI - Authorities said a car accident in Ottawa County sent a driver and passenger to the hospital on Friday.

According to WWMT, the single-vehicle crash took place on Ottawa Beach Road near 152nd Avenue in Park Township.

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office said a driver lost control of a car while going at high speed and went off the roadway.  The car rolled multiple times, crashed into a tree, and caught fire.

The two occupants were extricated from the vehicle. The 46-year-old driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.  The passenger, a 45-year-old Holland woman, was airlifted with critical injuries.  Both are from Holland Township.

Ottawa Beach Road was shut down for the accident investigation.
