Accident in Cass County involving car and truck leaves 2 injured

CASS COUNTY, MI - A collision involving a car and a truck in Cass County last Thursday sent two people to the hospital, according to a WBND report.

The incident happened in Jefferson Township at about 5:42 p.m.  The Cass County Sheriff's Office said the driver of the car was headed north on Oil City Road and disregarded a stop sign at the intersection with Monette Street.  The vehicle crashed into a truck headed east on Monette Street, causing it to roll over.

The first driver, 33-year-old Allison Sharp of Elkhart, and a passenger were taken to Elkhart General Hospital with minor injuries.  Authorities are investigating the crash and said it does not appear that alcohol was a contributing factor.
