Collision in Albion Township injures 3, ruptures gas line

ALBION TOWNSHIP, MI - The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office is investigating an accident last week that sent three people to the hospital, WKZO reports.

The incident happened Tuesday afternoon in Albion Township at about 2:15 p.m.  According to investigators, the driver of a vehicle headed east on D Drive South failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with M-99.  The vehicle collided with a vehicle going north on M-99.

The three injured victims were transported to Henry Ford Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.  They were a 53-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman, both from Eckford Townshp, and a 43-year-old Jonesville man.

The collision also caused a break in a main gas line, which was shut off and then repaired by crews from SEMCO Energy Gas Company.
