Crash shuts down US 131 in St. Joseph County during snowstorm

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, MI - The Michigan Department of Transportation advised motorists of a crash impacting traffic in a portion of St. Joseph County on Friday afternoon.

According to a report by MLive.com, the incident happened on US 131 at about 2:25 p.m. after a snowstorm had moved into the region.

All southbound lanes of the highway were closed at Flowerfield Road, about 20 miles south of Kalamazoo. Due to the hazardous road conditions, a travel advisory was issued by the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Office from Friday afternoon through Saturday evening.
