VAN BUREN COUNTY, MI - Police in Van Buren County said a driver was killed in a single-vehicle accident last week, according to WNDU.
The incident happened May 13 on 84th Avenue in Keeler Township, where deputies responded to the scene at about 6:30 p.m.
An investigation determined that a man was driving a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air when he lost control on a gravel road where the travel lanes were partially flooded. The vehicle collided with a tree head-on.
First responders arrived to find the victim, a 54-year-old man from Dowagiac, dead at the scene. Investigators suspect alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the wreck.
