Driver injured in Holland Township crash

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, MI - A driver was injured when his vehicle was involved in a crash in Ottawa County on Tuesday morning, reports WWMT.

The incident occurred in the vicinity of Interstate I-196 and Adams Street in Holland Township.  The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office said a man drove off the road while heading west on I-196 and collided with a tree.  No other vehicles were involved.

The motorist, a 32-year-old man from Grand Rapids, was trapped in his car.  Rescue crews were able to extricate him and he was flown to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries.  The crash temporarily closed I-196 while the man was being airlifted.
