Driver, passenger injured in collision in LaGrange Township

CASS COUNTY, MI - Authorities said a collision in Cass County on Thursday night sent two people to the hospital, according to WNDU.

Two vehicles were reported to have crashed at Pokagon Highway and Dailey Road in LaGrange Township shortly before 11:15 p.m.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office said one driver was headed north on Dailey Road and did not yield to oncoming traffic at the intersection.  Another driver going east on Pokagon Highway then collided with the first vehicle.  The impact sent both vehicles off the southeast side of the highway, where they struck a utility pole.

An active power pole fell on one of the vehicles and caused it to catch fire.  Two people inside, the driver and passenger, managed to escape and were taken to area hospitals.  The occupants of the other vehicle were not seriously injured.
