ALLENDALE TOWNSHIP, MI - A multi-vehicle accident in Ottawa County on Tuesday afternoon left one of the drivers dead.
A report by WXMI stated that the wreck took place on Lake Michigan Drive in Allendale Township shortly before 1 p.m. The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office said that a 20-year-old man was driving a Ford sedan eastbound when he crashed into the back of a Pontiac hatchback.
The impact sent the Pontiac into the path of oncoming traffic, where it was struck by a semi-truck. The driver of the Pontiac, a 70-year-old woman from Allendale Township, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lake Michigan Drive was closed in both directions between 84th Avenue and 88th Avenue for several hours while the scene was being cleared and investigated.
