Head-on collision on Michigan Avenue leaves 1 dead, 1 injured

CALHOUN COUNTY, MI - Michigan State Police said a collision in Calhoun County last week left one driver dead and another injured.

MLive.com reports the incident took place Thursday morning on Michigan Avenue near 12 Mile Road in Marshall Township. According to state police, the driver of a Dodge Charger was headed west at about 6:30 a.m. when he crossed over the center line into the eastbound lane. The driver of an eastbound Hyundai Elantra was not able to avoid the Dodge and the vehicles collided head-on.

The driver of the Dodge, a 27-year-old man from Coldwater, was declared dead at the scene. The Elantra driver, a 33-year-old man from Richland, was hospitalized with minor injuries.
