Kalamazoo woman injured when car hits pole on I-94 Business Loop

KALAMAZOO, MI - A car accident in Kalamazoo Township last week sent a driver to the hospital, police said.

WKZO reports the crash happened Tuesday night on the Interstate 94 Business Loop near Lake Street. An investigation found that a woman was driving on the loop when she collided with a telephone pole at about 9 p.m.

The driver, a 32-year-old woman from Kalamazoo, was ejected from her vehicle and critically injured. She was rushed to the hospital by Life EMS and listed in critical condition. The victim was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to police.

Investigators were trying to determine whether drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.
