JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, MI - A collision at an intersection in Cass County last week left a motorcycle rider injured, reports WKZO.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene in the vicinit;y of Hess Drive and Pine Lake Street in Jefferson Township. Authorities said the motorcyclist was going north on Hess Drive and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection, resulting in a collision with a pickup truck.
The motorcycle rider, 31-year-old Patrick Davis of Three Rivers, was taken to the hospital. There was no immediate word on his condition. The sheriff's office said Davis was not wearing a helmet when he hit the pickup, driven by 53-year-old Robert Tiser of Cassopolis.
There is an ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident. At this time, deputies do not believe drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.
