The crash took place the morning of June 3 on US-131 south near Interstate 94.  According to state police, a trooper was standing outside of a disabled vehicle after stopping to help the driver.

At that point, a distracted driver crashed into the trooper's cruiser on the side of the highway.  No one was seriously injured in the accident.

“This is a great reminder that distracted & careless driving remains against the law for the safety of all,” Michigan State Police said. “Those who violate will be held accountable.”
