Motorcyclist injured after colliding with pickup truck in Cass County

CASS COUNTY, MI - A motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital Thursday evening following a collision in Cass County, authorities said.

A report by WBND states that the motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on Sunset Boulevard near Wayne Street at 6:44 p.m. According to an investigation by the Cass County Sheriff's Office, 36-year-old James Tran of Bristol was riding his motorcycle in a northwest direction when the road started to curve and he lost control.

The bike hit loose gravel and struck a southbound pickup truck. Tran was taken to Elkhart General Hospital, though details on his condition were not released.

Investigators looking into the incident do not believe drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.
