Motorcyclist injured in crash with vehicle in Richland Township

RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, MI - Michigan State Police were at the scene of a crash in Richland Township that left a motorcycle rider critically injured.

MLive.com reports the incident happened Sunday morning in the area of North 28th Street and E G Avenue.  The State Police investigation found that the driver of a Saturn Outlook failed to give the right of way at the intersection while driving at about 9:45 a.m.  The Saturn crashed into a motorcycle that was heading west on E G Avenue.

The motorcyclist, a 19-year-old man from Galesburg, was rushed to an area hospital and was listed in critical condition.  The Saturn driver was not injured and was cooperating with the investigtion.

Police said the motorcyclist was wearing his helmet at the time of the crash.
