Motorcyclist killed in collision with van in Orangeville Township

ORANGEVILLE TOWNSHIP, MI - The Barry County Sheriff's Office released details of a fatal collision that occurred last Wednesday in Orangeville Township.

According to WOOD TV, a motorcycle rider was traveling at a high rate of speed while going west on 9 Mile Road at about 12:45 p.m.  The motorcycle collided with a van that was making a turn from LaFountaine Drive onto 9 Mile Road.

The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene.  He was a 34-year-old man from Plainwell, the sheriff's office said. 

A passenger in the van, a 52-year-old man, sustained minor injuries, while the driver, a 72-year-old woman, was not injured.  Both occupants of the van were from Plainwell.
