Osceola man injured after driving off road, crashing into tree

MILTON TOWNSHIP, MI - A car crash in Cass County Friday night sent a driver to the hospital, WNDU reports. 

A preliminary investigation indicated the motorist fell asleep at the wheel at about 7:40 p.m. while driving in the area of US-12 and Conrad Road in Milton Township.  The vehicle ran off the roadway and crashed into a large tree.

The driver, a 55-year-old man from Osceola, was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident, and said that drugs and alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors.
