COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, MI - The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office said an accident on Interstate 94 Tuesday night left a semi-truck driver dead, reports WKZO.
An investigation determined that two passenger vehicles had stopped on the shoulder of eastbound I-94 in Comstock Township near the 85.5 marker to change a flat tire. The truck driver drifted, sideswiped the two vehicles at about 8:15 p.m. and crashed into several trees, causing the truck to jackknife.
The truck driver, a 57-year-old man from Quebec, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not yet been released. The other two drivers were not injured.
