MENDON TOWNSHIP, MI - A head-on collision in Mendon Township on Thursday morning left one driver dead and another injured, WKZO reported.
Two vehicles crashed on Silver Street near Pinhook Road, according to the St. Joseph County Undersheriff. An investigation determined that a northbound vehicle driven by a 24-year-old Reading man collided with another vehicle, killing the other driver. The victim was identified as 45-year-old Melissa Hallack of Mendon, an assistant prosecutor with the St. Joseph County Prosecutor's office.
The Reading man was taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital n Kalamazoo. His condition was not disclosed. Alcohol is suspected to have been a contributing factor in the wreck, the sheriff's office said.
