Woman, 36, dies following motorcycle accident in Battle Creek

BATTLE CREEK, MI - Authorities said a motorcyclist died after crashing into a curb in Battle Creek on Friday, WKZO reports.

The incident occurred in the area of Helmer Road and Beckley Road at about 3:30 p.m.  Investigators determined that the motorcycle rider, a 36-year-old woman, was trying to make a left turn from Helmer Road onto Beckley Road when she hit a curb on the south side of Beckley Road.

She died while being transported to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.  Police said the rider was wearing a full-face helmet.  At this time it does not appear that speed was a contributing factor in the crash.

The Battle Creek Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene along with Lifecare Ambulance crews.
