Woman in wheelchair fatally struck by vehicle in Benton Township

BENTON TOWNSHIP, MI - Police in Benton Township were called to the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident on Thursday night, reports WBND.

An investigation determined that a woman in a wheelchair was struck by a vehicle in the vicinity of Milton Street and E. Napier Avenue at about 10 p.m. The woman, a 59-year-old resident of Benton Harbor, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle involved, a 57-year-old Benton Harbor resident, was not injured. The driver was reported to be cooperating with the investigation.
