Woman seriously injured in 2-vehicle collision in Byron Township

BYRON TOWNSHIP, MI - Two drivers were injured, one seriously, when their vehicles collided in Kent County on Friday afternoon, WOOD reports.

The crash happened in Byron Township shortly before 1:50 p.m.  Sheriff's deputies said a Ford Taurus going south and a northbound Chevy Silverado pickup truck crashed at the intersection of 76th Street and Division Avenue S.

The Ford driver, a 61-year-old from Wayland, was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.  The Chevy driver, a 69-year-old Byron Center man, sustained minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the sheriff's office Traffic and Safety unit.
