Woman sentenced for crash that injured toddler in AlbuquerqueALBUQUERQUE, NM - A woman was sentenced in connection with a drunk driving crash that occurred in Albuquerque in January 2022, reports KRQE. Authorities said 42-year-old Nicole Vargas was driving under the influence when the accident happened in the area of Wyoming Boulevard and Marquette Avenue. Vargas crashed into another car, seriously injuring a two-year-old girl in the other vehicle.

Driver under arrest following wreck that killed Portales womanPORTALES, NM - A woman has been arrested in connection with a fatal wreck that occurred in Portales last week, reports Eastern New Mexico News. The collision happened Friday night in the vicinity of West Second Street and South Avenue C. According to police, the driver of a bus or camper went through a red light and crashed into a northbound vehicle driven by 61-year-old Martha Polanco Lozano of Portales. Lozano was pronounced dead after being transported to an area hospital.

Lanes closed on I-25 near Los Lunas due to semi-truck rolloverLOS LUNAS, NM - New Mexico State Police issued a traffic alert following a semi-truck accident in Valencia County Wednesday. The crash happened on Interstate 25 at mile marker 199 south of Los Lunas, NMSP tweeted at 6:22 p.m. The semi was involved in a rollover accident on the interstate. There was no immediate word on whether anyone was injured.

1 injured after car collides with pickup in RoswellROSWELL, NM - One person was injured when a vehicle collided with a pickup truck in Roswell on Tuesday, the Roswell Daily Record reports. The Roswell Fire Department said the collision occurred at the intersection of North Washington Avenue and West 18th Street. The impact caused the pickup to overturn and catch fire, but firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze. The one victim sustained minor injuries.
