Man pleads guilty in car crash that killed Air Force sergeantALBUQUERQUE, NM - A man has pleaded guilty in connection with a fatal car accident in Albuquerque in November 2020, according to a report by KOB. Authorities said Mohammad Hassani was driving under the influence of alcohol and marijuana when he crashed into another vehicle in the area of Chico Road and Eubank Boulevard. The wreck killed a Kirtland Air Force Base airman, 28-year-old Staff Sergeant D'Andrea Smith.

Woman sentenced for crash that injured toddler in AlbuquerqueALBUQUERQUE, NM - A woman was sentenced in connection with a drunk driving crash that occurred in Albuquerque in January 2022, reports KRQE. Authorities said 42-year-old Nicole Vargas was driving under the influence when the accident happened in the area of Wyoming Boulevard and Marquette Avenue. Vargas crashed into another car, seriously injuring a two-year-old girl in the other vehicle.

Car and semi involved in fatal collision in AlbuquerqueALBUQUERQUE, NM - Albuquerque police said a car and a semi-truck were involved in a fatal collision early Friday morning. A report by KRQE said the accident happened along Coors Boulevard near Sequoia Road in northwest Albuquerque at about 3 a.m. Responding officers found the two vehicles had crashed and one person was declared dead at the scene. The victim's identity was not immediately released.

Multi-vehicle crash closes lanes on I-40 east of GallupGALLUP, NM - New Mexico State Police are investigating a crash that shut down a stretch of Interstate 40 Friday morning, reports the Albuquerque Journal. The multi-vehicle wreck took place on I-40 near mile marker 41, about 15 miles east of Gallup. The New Mexico Department of Transportation reported the incident on NM Roads at about 9:15 a.m., saying all lanes of I-40 had been shut down in both directions near exit 39. There were no reports of injuries.
